“Sickle Cell Boy” was created by New-York based illustrator Ellen Weinstein. The illustration was used in a New York Times blog piece titled “Easing the Pain of Sickle Cell Disease” written by Roni Caryn Rabin. Weinstein is a graduate of Pratt Institute and New York’s High School of Art & Design. Her art is exhibited in local New York galleries as well as other galleries in the US and Italy.
